On June 30th, Four Paws Society®, a 501(c)(3) pet advocacy group promoting responsible pet ownership, hosted a great pet resource fair at San Leandro Marina Park, where the city’s first dog park opened last September after four years of campaigning.
The 2012 Paw-a-Thon launched included a one-mile fundraising walk plus loads of family-friendly activities. Popular attractions included a petting zoo, canine demonstrations, fun exhibits, and a raffle of donated prizes and fun exhibits! Grand Marshal for the event was San Leandro Mayor Stephen Cassidy, who guided the proceedings with his dog Button by his side. “The City greatly appreciates the efforts of the organizers, volunteer, and vendors in making this year’s Paw-a-Thon a success,” he announced, “and their contributions to the vitality of San Leandro.” Visit FourPawsSociety.org for more info.
