Dog Food Company Founded on Generosity

Dog for Dog aims to do well in business by doing good for dogs. Longtime animal lover Rocky Kanaka, founder and President, came up with the company’s slogan: “You buy one, we give one.” True to this mission statement, the company donates one food product to an animal shelter for each identical product purchased by consumers.

The all-natural Dog for Dog product line includes kibble, treats, bars, and a popular peanut butter – DogsButter – formulated especially for canines. The kibble, called DogsFood, was recently named Best New Product at the 2014 Global Pet Expo.

The company hosted a competition earlier this year, Feed a Shelter, aimed at raising awareness of the brand while helping out shelter animals. Hundreds of shelters and rescue groups were nominated and fan votes chose the winner – Villalobos Rescue Center in New Orleans. The prize? Free Dog for Dog food products for the shelter for an entire year.
