Hello. My name is Mona and I just love going to daycare! Here is my usual schedule.
My mom drops me off first thing in the morning and I hit the ground runnin’! I usually knock on the door before she gets a chance to ring the bell – I just can’t wait to see all my friends.
Since I am an English bulldog, I usually play with the bigger or medium-sized dogs, and there are about six or seven of us in a play group at a time. In the morning, we play energetically but nicely, get massages from the Nice Girls who care for us, and take part in various other fun activities. My personal favorite is story time, when one of the girls reads to us from such classics as James Herriot’s Dog Stories. It is a very relaxing time and it’s great to snuggle up to my best friends. I also love running up the slide backwards – I am a most nimble bulldog!
We all get kind of sleepy by 11:45, so we go to our quiet areas for naps. This is also when we get our lunches and snacks – so of course it’s another great part of the day. The Nice Girls get us up from naptime at 2 o’clock and we start playing again. Sometimes I meet up with my good friends from the morning, and sometimes I get to play with new friends. All of the dogs who come here have an “interview” to ensure we will all get along, so I can play with anybody and not get in trouble.
We continue goofing around and getting lots of attention from the Nice Girls all afternoon. I really get spoiled on Fridays, when I usually get a spa treatment – an essential oil bath and massage. Heavenly! Some dogs get obedience training or agility practice. My friend Patrick the Poodle is really good at the jumps.
At about 4 o’clock, my friends start getting picked up. We all get a report card that tells our parents who we played with, what we ate, if we pooped, etc. Very interesting stuff.
Hey, there’s my mom! I have to get my leash on and head home for dinner and a good night’s rest. We have to leave here by 6:30 because the puppies come in soon for classes.
So now you know what it’s like at doggie daycare. Come on by and visit anytime!
Woofs and love,
Mona
