Shelter Dogs Find Celebrity Homes

We’ve seen two pieces of news this week about shelter dogs landing in some pretty famous laps. Actress Jane Lynch, Glee’s Sue Sylvester and a dog trainer in the classic Best in Show, is a huge animal lover.  She and her wife and step-daughter already share their home with pets. After meeting an adorable 5-month-old puppy at an adoption fair they took him home and named him Francis.

George Clooney fell in love on-line – with a cocker-spaniel mix named Einstein. But when he called the shelter to express his interest in adopting the dog they told him the choice was Einstein’s and that Clooney would have to come meet him to win his approval.  Not willing to take any chances with rejection, Clooney rubbed turkey meatballs across the top of his shoes to better his chances!  It worked, they clicked, and Einstein was adopted by Clooney. “And forever, now, he just thinks of me as the guy with the meatball feet. He loves me. I can do no wrong. He follows me everywhere,” he told Esquire magazine.

Bay Woof applauds these celebrities and everyone else who chooses to give a loving home to an animal in need.  Please see our list of shelters and rescues here.
